Payne Returns to the Track with Fountain Motorsports

Las Vegas, NV (07.01.08): Byron Payne makes his professional racing return this weekend as the Grand-Am Koni Challenge Series hits Watkins Glen International Raceway. Payne will compete in the ST-class with the Fountain Motorsports team, driving the #127 BMW 330 with teammate Olivier Muytjens.

Byron Payne is a professional driver with many years of experience. Stepping away from competition for a bit, Byron has spent the last several years as a professional driver and instructor for various racing-promotion events, manufacturers, and driving schools. Byron’s racing resume includes Formula Atlantic, Formula Ford, Formula Super Vee, Formula British Vauxhall Lotus, Formula 3 Test Driver, Indy Lights, shifter karts in Russia, The Jim Russell Scholarship Winner, and was named Formula Super Vee Rookie of the Year! This July 4th weekend, Payne will add the Koni Challenge to his resume.

The Grand-Am Koni Challenge Series hits the track Saturday, July 5th at 4:40pm (EST), at the famed Watkins Glen International Raceway in Watkins Glen, NY.
